Earth Capital, the global sustainable investing private equity group, has appointed Phil Culver Evans as Chief Executive. Phil will move from his current role as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and take over Earth Capital’s CEO responsibilities from Gordon Power, who remains Chief Investment Officer.

Phil joined Earth Capital in 2017 with a track record of senior management expertise in financial and operational leadership roles, specialising in transformation and value realisation. Phil held senior executive posts at several businesses before joining Earth Capital including Robert Walters, Huntsworth and College Hill, and has spent many years managing a portfolio of companies and investments, growing and selling a small care home group, and transforming a number of businesses. Phil is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA). Before embarking on his career in business, Phil was in the French army.

Gordon Power, Co-Founder and Chief Investment Officer of Earth Capital, said: “We are pleased to have Phil move into the role of Chief Executive. He has a broad range of experience and the drive to enhance our sustainable investment focus amid a surge of investor interest in our sector.”

Phil Culver Evans, Chief Executive, added: “I am honoured to be appointed to this post, with the support of the team, at this exciting and dynamic time for Earth Capital. With COP-26 ahead and fundraising for our Nobel Sustainability Fund® nearing its close, the importance of our vision for the future of sustainable finance has never been greater.”
