Date published: Saturday, 16 June 2012
Richard Burrett addresses the audience at the Corporate Action on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services event hosted by Global Compact/IUCN at the Rio+20 Corporate Sustainability Forum.
His session explores how companies can integrate biodiversity and ecosystem services (BES) conservation into their overall corporate sustainability strategies by showcasing best practices and innovative solutions. The main objective of the session is to introduce the Framework for Corporate Action on BES as a way for companies to develop, implement and disclose BES policies and practices in order to address risks, manage impacts, seize opportunities and contribute to social targets. The session also focused on delivering public policy recommendations to further mainstream BES conservation within the private sector.
